Our Christmas concert took place in the school hall. A great show was put on by all of the classes. Great singing ,acting and tin whistle playing. Well done to our parents for their great support. Well done boys!!!Well done all staff !!!

CINEMA TRIP

We went to see Happy Feet 2 in The Gate Cinema . This was done in conjunction with St. Vincent de Paul Christmas food appeal. All the boys brought food to school for this appeal and were rewarded with a free trip to the cinema. Well done boys!!!.A special word of thanks to the local Gádaí who drove some of our children on the Community Bus.

On Friday last ,in Croke the school was nominated for a National Award in Gaelic games promotion. Teacher, Dave Cashman represented the school and received the award on behalf of the pupils and the school Well done to all.!!

SMILES CYCLING PROJECT

Sunday’s well Boys are learning best practice when cycling. Under the Smile’s Project- for active schools 5th and 6th class have cycling lessons in our school yard each Wednesday. Boys who cannot cycle are being taught by our visiting tutor ,John Clancy– The Cycle Safety School.. This project will continue throughout the school year.

Pick of the crop!

The boys harvested the vegetables from our garden . We had onions, carrots, marrows, pumpkins, apples and it was decided to make pumpkin soup and marrow soup. The boys prepared the vegeables ,under the supervision of Noreen and Uhli. Guests were invited to sample what was delicious soup. The children all sampled it as well and it was decided to plant again in the Spring and add to our range of delicious vegetables and fruit , with the help of Claire our gardener..

Lord Mayor visits Sunday’s Well BNS

On Wednesday September 28th Lord Mayor Terry Shannon paid avisit to our school, accompanied by The Lady Mayoress. He received a rapturous welcome from all of the children and they all sang ‘De Banks’ for our visitor.
