General Information

At Sunday’s Well School, parents are made welcome and are actively encouraged to use our Parent’s Room, which we are glad to say, is used regularly.

There are tea and coffee making facilities available to the parents. Our Parent’s Room is just inside the main door of the school and is a lovely relaxing homely room. Parents drop in there for a cuppa after helping with Literacy Lift Off in the mornings, after one of the many courses they may be attending within the school, new parents after dropping their children to class etc.

The parents are encouraged to visit and use the room on a social basis to exchange ideas and to support one another.

New parents are presented with a “Booklet for Parents of Infants Starting School” written by the staff of Sunday’s Well School. Parents are informed of our healthy lunch policy, given the relevant information concerning their child’s welfare and the “Going Forward Together” Booklet at enrolment. The senior pupils give a presentation to the parents. They display their artwork, projects, tell of their many sporting achievements and may play the tin whistle, which is taught in the school. Parents are free to ask the pupils questions about the school and the pupils enjoy this.

In Sunday’s Well School, we have a new mobile phone service ensuring better communication with parents. It is a system, which helps the school to get messages to parents in a fast and efficient manner using text messages on mobile phones. The benefits of this system are obvious. It can be used to remind parents of upcoming school events or quickly notify them of unforeseen changes to plans.
