HSCL

Máiréad, a School Community Liaison and Health Promoting Schools co-ordinator is working within a scheme that provides a very effective channel for breaking down the barriers between home and school and for creating a sense of partnership between parents and teachers. Through home visitation HSCL, coordinators establish bonds of trust with families and offer support to parents.

A goal of the HSCL scheme is to raise awareness in parents of their own capacities to enhance their children’s educational progress and to assist them in developing relevant skills. Courses for parents are run in our school to promote this fostering of self-help and independence.
